COMMUNITY DETENTION MONITORING

Community Detention Program Assistant

Works closely with the Program Director, assisting with daily operational issues, coordinating referrals and intakes, and providing “troubleshooting” support to those staff working in the field. Additionally, this position will interact directly with youth and families during court hearings, intakes and occasionally on home visits. This position will also monitor youth compliance and provide daily and weekly updates to probation officers, generate reports, and ensure progress notes and client files are up to date and accurate. details

Van Driver/Classroom Assistant

Responsible for providing safe transportation to and from the Family Nursery for children in need of transportation in order to participate fully in program services.  Also responsible for transportation to and from field trips and working as a classroom assistant between van runs with children between the ages of six weeks to 5 years of age. details

Toddler Interventionist

Responsible for the daily care, education and recreation of children ages 18 months - 3 years, for providing emergent, child-directed, developmentally appropriate lessons and activities for children, for initiating and fostering positive guidance and behavior management practices for children and for establishing a high level of morale for the center. Additional responsibilities include home visiting, case management, and co-teaching the parenting education class. details

HOME FREE — DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INTERVENTION SERVICES 

Lead Restraining Order Advocate

Coordinates and provides services in Home Free’s Restraining Order (RO) Advocacy Program housed at the Multnomah County Courthouse. The Lead Restraining Order Advocate assists domestic/sexual violence survivors in completing petitions for protective orders under the Family Violence Prevention Act and Elderly and Disabled Abuse Protection Act (FAPA and EDPAPA), as well as Stalking Prevention Orders. This position also provides accompaniment to contestments and other court hearings as requested by participants, assists petitioners in formulating an individual safety plan, and provides logistical information on civil legal and law enforcement resources and linkages to appropriate community resources. details

Outstationed Domestic Violence Advocate

Full-time advocate for collaborative project to increase access to advocacy services for survivors of domestic violence. Position out-stationed at Department of Human Services Self-Sufficiency.  Advocate will provide broad range of direct services to adult survivors, assist in promoting coordinated services, and provide training and consultation on domestic violence issues for Self-Sufficiency workers.  Duties include needs assessment, systems navigation, linkages to resources, and related supportive services. details

Individual must be able to work from a family systems perspective and use a holistic view when assessing a family while looking for strengths to be enriched and needs to be identified. Must be flexible in responding to larger system changes and comfortable in working in a partnership with other community providers and the Child Welfare system. Must be respectful of the uniqueness of each family and its members referred for services by DHS Child Welfare. Also important is an understanding of family dynamics when families are affected by abuse, chemical dependency and domestic violence. details
