Al Forthan Memorial Scholarship

The 2010 Al Forthan Memorial Recover Scholarship program awarded over $20,000 in college scholarships to 33 high school seniors in the Portland area.  Congratulations to all of the recipients!

The purpose of the scholarship is to honor Al, encourage students to explore how addiction has impacted our community, and to think about solutions to this complex problem.  Al was the first alumnus to work at the VOA Oregon Men's Residential Center.  He touched hundreds of lives and brought love, wisdom, integrity, humility, and a deep passion and commitment to recovery.  Read
