Drug Free Housing With Intensive Outpatient Treatment
Volunteers of America Oregon and Bridges to Change (BTC) are working closely together to create this hybrid drug-free housing/intensive outpatient treatment program for men. Serving 10 men at a time, VOA Oregon provides intensive outpatient treatment at the InAct program offices, and BTC provides a drug and alcohol-free house in Portland, with a live-in manager and a recovery mentor dedicated to these 10 clients. To enter the program, clients sign an agreement to maintain this housing while they are in treatment and an agreement to stay in treatment with VOA Oregon while in the housing. Another condition of entering the program is to sign releases of information with VOA Oregon and BTC for full sharing of information between the two organizations.
BTC and VOA Oregon work together to provide a high level of daily structured activities for participants. Participants attend several group and/or individual treatment appointments with VOA Oregon counselors 5 to 6 days a week. The participants also attend recovery support groups in the community. The BTC recovery mentor works closely with the participants to help them develop a recovery lifestyle, find employment, and obtain stable safe and sober housing.
