Former Drug Dealer Leaves Positive Legacy
Nealy four years after his death, Al Forthan's legacy lives on through the Al Forthan Memorial Scholarship, which helps low-income students in the Portland metro area attend college. VOA Oregon's Men's Residential Center established the scholarship fund to honor Forthan, who was the first alumnus of the center to be hired as a drug and alcohol counselor there.
